2024 Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

Monday, April 8 from 9am-1pm
Harborside Fountain Park,
251 1st St, Bremerton, WA 98337
Come join us for the upcoming partial solar eclipse! We'll be set up down by the waterfront at Harborside Fountain Park, which has wide open views of the southern half of the sky - perfect for eclipse viewing!

We'll have a tent, multiple safe solar viewing tools and information about solar science and eclipses to celebrate the eclipse, so we'll be celebrating and learning whatever the weather may be!

The eclipse will start around 10:30am, will peak at about 11:30am, and will end around 12:30pm. This will be a PARTIAL eclipse (about 30% coverage), so safe solar viewing methods are a must.

We'll have "Sun Spotters", which are fun tools that allow you to safely view a live image of the Sun, including any active sunspots and the eclipse! We'll also have eclipse glasses, pinhole projectors, and other indirect solar viewing methods for folks to use. You're also welcome to bring your own telescopes, cameras, or other equipment as long as you have a solar filter specific for eclipse viewing (see https://eclipse.aas.org/eye-safety/viewers-filters for more details).

This is FREE and open to the public, so feel free to stop by!
